I’m a great believer that the lyrics are as important as the music. It’s like baking a cake and you’re finishing it off by putting the icing on the top. If you’ve written a great piece of music and you add really bad lyrics, it's like finishing your cake by sprinkling saw dust on top.
The story of Sailing Home to Me is told through the eyes of an observer watching a close friend he/she yearns to be intimately involved with going through a painful breakup.
The message is: Your salvation will come when you decide to sail away from the stormy seas of the past and find your sheltered harbour in my arms.
